Efficient mass data processing

Projects in the financial environment involve increasingly large amounts of data that need to be processed. With our data analytics specialists, we support you in the analysis, validation and visualization of large amounts of data. Each of our experts has a sound finance background and knows the needs of financial departments in detail. From our perspective, this is important for the efficient translation of technical requirements into high-performance solutions. We can already implement most requirements by making full use of the Microsoft Office Suite. This is possible in particular by using the lesser-known Power Query and Power Pivot solutions integrated in Excel. However, we are also happy to use specialist solutions such as Alteryx if the requirements in terms of data volumes and complexity make this necessary. When solving more complex issues, we also form interdisciplinary teams of data analytics specialists and technical colleagues.

Concrete project examples

The following are some examples of sub-projects that we have supported in this way:

• Aggregation and visualization of IRO assessment (Impacts, Risks & Opportunities) data in the context of sustainability reporting

• Extensive support for carve-outs in the Dax environment, including the following
  • Automated data quality checks to validate the business plans supplied.
  • Aggregation of business plans into an overall business plan, analyzable by division.
  • Development and delivery of "patches" that correct templates while retaining work already carried out.
  • Ad hoc analyses on specific issues (e.g. currency effects, variance analyses, top-down and bottom-up planning harmonization, etc.)

• Data-driven ICS analyses, including with regard to
  • Checking BANF and order approvals (in particular validation of the approval workflow)
  • Analysis of payment proposal lists with regard to changes to master data (in particular IBANs)
  • Posting journal analyses (e.g. jumps in posting numbers, anomalies in debtor and creditor numbers)
  • Analysis of transaction data with regard to anomalies (e.g. missing approvals, subsequent changes without approvals, etc.)
  • Checking system authorizations in accordance with the established governance structure

• Variance analyses between US GAAP and IFRS as part of a chart of accounts analysis
• Analysis of inventory data in the course of fixed asset and inventory stocktaking.
• Implementation of various mitigation and automation solutions in the financial area (e.g. Excel-based SAP account application workflow, CSV builder for semi-automated generation of mass purchase orders, accruals for outstanding invoices, semi-automated consolidation folders including data import and validation functions, etc.)
